Conservative news is garbage

They tell the truth about each other, but rarely do they tell the truth about themselves.

I use to believe in the old saying years back, but not anymore. In the “us vs them” of politics, I find now the left tells the truth about the right much more than the opposite. From the right’s perspective, it sounds good to say the left controls our schools, universities, and the media, but when I observe conservative news by itself, it doesn’t look to me like they’re putting much effort into it. They just lie. It isn’t that I think the left are saints (and don’t lie), but it looks like to me like they value journalism and hence tell the truth on the right much more often. On the right there’s Faux primetime (Ingraham, Hannity, Waters), Newsmax, townhall.com, the NY Post, X, conservative “influencers,” and the wasteland of national conservative radio etc. There were “shock jocks” like Rush Limbaugh/Bill O’Reilly, and laughably Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones. (Even Republcans know “Sean Hannity is the longest running host in history” is meaningless.) I think words/websites like Rumble and Grindr have a strong emphasis for young conservatives. Rage, not ideas, is their thing. I still believe the right’s primary is to OTL (ownthelibs), and there’s not much more substance to them beyond that. As one person infamously said: they’ll spread their legs to OTL. They are animated by catch phrases like “cope,” “triggered,” “cancel culture”, “snowflakes,” and “fake news.” (Ironically, all the things that they are under Trump.) The right lack a philosophy, intellectualism, and simply research and deep dives into criticism on liberal policy, etc. I’m not sure “news gathering” is even a thing to them. It’s more conspiratorial, sometimes tabloidy. In essence, for as infinite a potential the WWW has, there are few potentials in conservative news and ideology. Because they lack a foundation for telling the truth on the left, it actually handicaps them in social media to the point they are on the sidelines. Subconsciously they know they cannot cite conservative news sources because those sources are unreliable. My observations in social media is: say something dumb > have it rebutted > then disappear. Rinse/repeat. They’re frustrated, and I think a lot of that has to do with their own self-deprecation. You might want to ask yourself why that is? They are also kind of parasitic in the sense they want the left to tell the truth on the left. Not hey we need to get better. We need to put more effort into this. Therefore it’s really about trying to establish leverage. It feels like their lies are on autopilot, or lies to cover up for the previous lies. The hypocisy by them is amazing. One person described conservative news as just plain lazy. When asked why there are not more “conservative” search engines? Another replied: no, they’ll just lie.
